"She is the real thing. A unique combination of Basin Street and Mayfair"

Michael Parkinson

Born in Natchez, Mississippi, Marion Montgomery grew up listening to Country, Blues and Jazz. As a young performer she faced and won over the toughest of audiences who spent their nights in the strip joints and gambling dens of the deep South.

She moved to London and during the Sixties, ably assisted by Laurie Holloway, her musical director, accompanist and husband rolled into one, she became a household name through cabaret, radio and TV appearances.

Marion Montgomery has firmly established herself as one of the best imports ever made into Britain from America.

Sadly Marion Montgomery passed away in July 2002. Her talent and charm will be sadly missed by her family, friends and many fans.
